4B, a leader in the Swiss window and facade industry, announces a CHF 35 million investment in its Hochdorf site, Luzern reports a press release. This initiative includes a state-of-the-art machining plant and four new halls, all powered by renewable energy.

CEO Jean-Marc Devaud hails this as the dawn of a new era, ensuring another 125 successful years in Switzerland.

The new machining plant is pivotal in window production, and the additional halls will optimise long-term production processes. This expansion aims to reintegrate parts of the value chain back to Hochdorf, enhancing flexibility for future demands.

The investment is in the Luzern region and the Swiss economy at large. With over 650 employees, 500 in Hochdorf, 4B’s expansion is a boon for local employment.

4B is investing approximately CHF 4 million in autonomous energy supply. Large-scale photovoltaic installations on existing and new halls will generate about 3,000,000 kWh of electricity annually by mid-2025, covering the site’s entire energy needs.

The first phase of solar installations will go live this year, contributing 1,000,000 kWh of energy annually.
