BEA a crowd-puller despite construction site

The Bern Spring Fair BEA confirmed last year's record attendance at its closing on Sunday. It recorded over 330,000 visitors, according to the organizer Bernexpo. The construction site of the festival hall did not detract from this.
On the contrary, the audience was able to get an idea of the progress being made on the huge construction site. The construction work did not prove to be an obstacle for the 71st BEA in terms of public access. The festival hall at the entrance to the BEA is due to open in a year's time.
For the trade fair organization Bernexpo, the remarkably high number of visitors proves that, in addition to safe and popular values, new content also meets with a lively response. It mentions, for example, the net-zero exhibition of the Cantonal Office for the Environment and Energy, the expanded pet area and the Citylab with the digitalization of Bern.
More than 800 exhibitors showcased their products during the fair. Due to construction work, the Luna Park with the largest Ferris wheel in Switzerland was located behind the site instead of at the front on Guisanplatz. As a result, the BEA also lacked around 10,000 square meters of exhibition space this year. The next BEA will take place from April 25 to May 4, 2025.
