David Garrett interprets Taylor Swift

Star violinist David Garrett is dedicating his new project to very fresh pop songs and hits from the past 25 years or so. The 43-year-old's new album will be entitled "Millennium Symphony" and will be released in the fall, as announced on Monday.
"Millennium Symphony" features interpretations by Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, David Guetta, as well as Udo Lindenberg and Apache 207.
Garrett described the project as extraordinary. "I took a lot of risks with it. But you can't create anything new without risk," he said in Cologne.
The question was, for example, how a song by The Weeknd would work with a violin. "You have to create a completely different approach." It's different to an AC/DC rock number, for example. "More complicated. But also more exciting," said Garrett. "And that was the approach: not to rely on what has worked in the past, but to take a risk."
The violinist, who was born in Aachen, lives in New York and has been playing crossover hits to large audiences for years. He recently signed a global concert contract with the promoter Live-Nation, as announced by both parties. Garrett promised a world tour that would "really be on a completely different level from all sides". It starts on March 20, 2025 in Munich, but will not take him to Switzerland.
