Bern in a yellow and black frenzy of joy: on Sunday, the federal city celebrates its football club YB, which has won the Swiss football championship. In the afternoon, hundreds of fans gathered in front of the stadium in Wankdorf for a fan march.
Fan chants, fireworks, flags and, of course, the yellow and black YB championship shirts dominated the street scene. Shortly after 2.30 p.m., the fan march set off towards the old town. It will be joined by many more people along the route.
The celebration starts at 4 p.m. on the Bundesplatz, where the team is also expected to be celebrated by their fans. The YB "party" will be accompanied by musical performances. The party will continue into the evening.
BSC YB secured the championship title on May 20 with a win against Servette. The team received the trophy on Saturday after their Super League match against Winterthur. It is the 17th in the club's history.
