New journalism fund for Germany, Austria and Switzerland

A new fund aims to promote journalism in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from July. The "Media Forward Fund" aims to ensure that there is more independent quality journalism with sustainable business models, as the organization announced on Wednesday.
The fund is being initiated by several foundations. Journalist Martin Kotynek will reportedly take over the management of the fund. Among other things, the 40-year-old was editor-in-chief of the Austrian daily newspaper "Der Standard" for several years. Before that, he was deputy editor-in-chief of "Zeit Online" in Germany.
