Cassis: “Joint declaration is already under consultation”

According to Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, there is already a draft final declaration for the Bürgenstock Conference. And it is already being "intensively consulted".
In response to a question from journalists, Cassis went on to say that Switzerland was also discussing with many countries when a second step could be taken after the Bürgenstock. The Bürgenstock Conference was the first step.
A key issue at the Bürgenstock will be when Russia can be involved in the process. Because it is clear that it will not work without Russia. In this respect, the question is not whether Russia will be involved in the process, but when. On Saturday, a dynamic that is currently lacking will be launched on the Bürgenstock.
President Viola Amherd said that a handful of the 90 participants at the conference were organizations, such as the UN, while the rest were states. And around half of these states were represented by heads of state or government, while the rest were represented by ministers or other representatives.
Everything is still in flux, said Amherd and Cassis. It would not be clear until Friday evening who was coming. Amherd said that Brazil and South Africa had not yet officially confirmed their participation, but Turkey had.
