19-year-old’s life in danger after “pyro” explosion at European Championship party

A young man was seriously injured by a homemade pyrotechnic object at a European Football Championship party in Payerne VD on Thursday evening. According to the police, the 19-year-old's life is in danger.
The victim sustained injuries to his upper limbs and one leg, as reported by the Vaud cantonal police on Friday. A passer-by provided first aid and was assisted by the police. The 19-year-old was then taken to the hospital in Payerne by paramedics and then flown by helicopter to Lausanne University Hospital (Chuv).
The accident occurred during celebrations after a European Football Championship match. No other people were injured. The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
