The woman who was rescued from the rubble in Sorte GR on Saturday morning has left the intensive care unit of a hospital in Lugano TI. She was transferred to the normal ward. Physically, she is doing well according to the circumstances.

This is what William Kloter, head of operations for the Graubünden police, told a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency during an inspection of the damage sites in Misox GR on Sunday. The woman had been able to activate the Swiss Air-Rescue (Rega) app on her cell phone from under the stones. This enabled her to be rescued.

She was found at the bottom of the cantonal road, the police officer said. The woman, who was in her mid-70s, lived in the middle of the three houses in Sorte that were swept away.
