Historian Raphael Gross believes that the provenance research carried out to date by the E. G. Bührle Collection Foundation is not sufficient. In his opinion, further measures are needed to meet the requirements of the Kunsthaus Zürich.

Further provenance research must be undertaken, focusing on clarifying the previous Jewish ownership and the persecution-related confiscation of the works from the Emil Bührle Collection, as Raphael Gross's research team announced on Friday.

In addition, the Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft, as the sponsor of the Kunsthaus, is to set up a committee to develop a review scheme for Nazi-related seizures.

This is to be applied both to the Kunsthaus Zürich's own collection and to the permanent loans. The Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft is also advised to conduct a discussion with the title "Emil Bührle Collection".
