Bike bridge in the Maggia Valley opened to car traffic

The bicycle bridge near Visletto, which was spared by the storm, was opened to traffic on Wednesday. So far, however, only emergency vehicles or cars that the Ticino crisis management team has expressly allowed to cross are permitted to do so.
According to information from the Ticino cantonal police, vehicles no heavier than 3.5 tons and no wider than 1.8 metres are allowed to cross the bridge at a maximum speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
The opening of the bicycle bridge facilitates the transport of everyday goods for the population, the transport of equipment for relief and search operations and the transport of personnel from first aid organizations.
