In large Swiss companies, executive salaries are now often linked to sustainability criteria. However, there is often a lack of transparency. This is the conclusion of a recent study by the consulting firm Swipra.
The 100 largest listed Swiss companies (SPI 100) were included in the study. For a total of 69 percent of these companies, sustainability criteria have an influence on the variable remuneration of the Executive Board. Two years ago, the proportion was 47 percent.
Nevertheless, the consultancy still sees room for improvement. For more than half of the companies, it is still unclear how the sustainability criteria are measured and how they are incorporated into the bonuses of the Executive Board.
