The Center Party continues to warn of a growing AHV deficit. This would amount to around two billion francs by 2030, the party announced on Tuesday.
Although the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO) has overestimated AHV expenditure for 2033 by CHF 4 billion, there will be a deficit of CHF 4 billion by that time, the center wrote in its statement.
The party welcomed the announced investigation into the case by the Department of Home Affairs and called for complete transparency. It wants to continue its efforts to put Switzerland's most important social welfare organization back on a solid financial footing.
With regard to the financing of the 13th AHV, the center maintained its demand that the federal contribution to the AHV should not be reduced. With the lower AHV expenditure, the federal contribution would also be lower and place less of a burden on the federal budget than previously assumed.
It is important to find the most balanced solution possible for financing the 13th AHV and to burden the middle class as little as possible, wrote the center.
