A thunderstorm with heavy rain and squalls blew down trees and flooded cellars in the canton of Aargau on Monday night. 30 fire departments were deployed at 150 damage sites, as reported by the Aargau cantonal police. No one was injured.
Between 8.30 p.m. and 11 p.m., numerous reports of flooded cellars, blown-over building barriers and fallen trees were received. This was due to a heavy thunderstorm after a hot and humid day, the cantonal police reported on Tuesday.
The fire departments were in action until late into the night. There were no reports of injured persons. On Tuesday morning before 08:00, the railroad underpass in Wildegg and a side road in Murgenthal were still closed, according to reports. Detour have been signalized.
