On Wednesday, two dead people were discovered in a detached house in Altenrhein SG. It is still unclear how and under what circumstances the 41-year-old woman and the 48-year-old man died. According to the cantonal police, it will only be possible to find out once forensic investigations have been carried out.

The two people were found lifeless at midday on Wednesday. The cantonal police issued a statement in the early evening saying that they were assuming a violent crime, but that investigations into the cause of death and possible sequence of events had only just begun.

The police were also unable to completely rule out the involvement of third parties. At the moment, however, they do not believe that there is any danger to the public, they said.

Even a day later, there were still no new findings, police spokesman Florian Schneider told the Keystone-SDA news agency on Thursday. First of all, the forensic medical examination had to be awaited. This could take a few days.
