20-year-old arrested after robbery at Valais petrol station

Following the robbery of a petrol station in Conthey VS on Saturday, the police have arrested the suspected perpetrator. The arrest was made on Wednesday following a large-scale manhunt.
The young man entered the petrol station last Saturday and threatened the sales staff with a knife, as reported by the Valais cantonal police on Thursday. He demanded that the contents of the till be handed over and then fled with the loot.
The investigation carried out by the public prosecutor's office in collaboration with the cantonal police led to the identification of the suspected perpetrator. He was stopped and arrested in Sierre VS on Wednesday. He is a 20-year-old Swiss national.
The public prosecutor's office requested that he be remanded in custody and initiated an investigation.
