Over 76,000 visitors traveled to Rümlang ZH for the Zurich Openair. According to the organizers, extending the music festival to two weekends proved to be the right decision.
The festival site was well attended over the four days, said Rolf Ronner, managing director of the festival, in a press release on Sunday morning.
Over the past two weekends, there were 40 concerts and 24 DJ sets. International headliners such as Martin Garrix, Macklemore and Sam Smith took to the stage. From the Swiss music scene, Nemo, Dabu Fantastic, Naomi Lareine and Caroline Alves performed. The Zurich Openair marks the end of the festival summer in Switzerland.
The Openair lasted one day shorter than the previous year. However, the 2023 festival had to be canceled and evacuated on one evening due to a thunderstorm. In 2022, just over 100,000 people attended the then five-day festival.
Next year, the music festival in Rümlang will once again take place on two weekends: August 22 and 23 and August 29 and 30, 2025.
