Authorities warn of storms and heavy rainfall

The authorities are warning of thunderstorms in several cantons. According to MeteoSwiss, the cantons of Zurich, Schaffhausen, Thurgau, St. Gallen, Glarus, Zug and Schwyz will be affected on Tuesday and Wednesday. Intense precipitation and continuous rain are expected.
The weather forecast from the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology (MeteoSwiss) predicts heavy cloud cover and widespread precipitation from the west on Tuesday. More intense precipitation is expected in the evening and during the night on Wednesday, particularly on the central and western northern slopes of the Alps and in the neighboring Central Plateau.
Especially in western Switzerland, in the Jura and in the cantons of Fribourg, Bern and Aargau as well as in parts of Vaud and Valais, streams and normally dry ditches could fill with water and lead to landslides, warns MeteoSwiss, referring to flood warnings from the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN). The reason for the warning is storm "Isaac".
