In order to avenge the death of their father, a brother and sister are said to have plotted revenge on the alleged perpetrator. A young man in Germany has been sentenced to a prison term for the murder of the asylum seeker in the canton of Valais.
The 25-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for the revenge murder of an asylum seeker in Switzerland. The Braunschweig Regional Court convicted the German-Afghan national of joint murder.
The jury chamber is convinced that the accused plotted revenge with his sister, who lives in Pakistan. The aim was to avenge the allegedly violent death of their father in 2022.
On the evening of June 13, 2023, the accused stabbed his compatriot in Haute-Nendaz in the canton of Valais in the chest with a long army knife with a serrated blade. Rescue workers were unable to do anything for the attacked man.
With the sentence, the judges followed the prosecution's request, but did not consider the case to be particularly serious as requested. The defense had pleaded guilty to assault resulting in death and demanded a lenient sentence. The verdict is not yet final.
