Zurich Airport did not expect any major disruptions due to the snowfall of the past few hours on Friday. The runways were ready for the start of operations at 06:00, as an airport spokesperson told the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The airport's winter services worked through the night and cleared the runways, among other things, said the spokesperson early on Friday morning. Apart from two flights to Amsterdam, no cancellations were reported.
The first snowfall on Thursday affected air traffic as well as road and rail traffic. Numerous flights from Zurich Airport had to be canceled, especially in the early evening, according to information on the airport website.
