Around 40 children from almost all cantons in French-speaking Switzerland developed project ideas relating to children's rights as part of the Swiss Children's Conference. The final meeting took place in Geneva on Saturday. Children from German-speaking Switzerland plan to meet in Bern next February.

37 children from the cantons of Geneva, Vaud, Neuchâtel, Fribourg and Valais met in the city of Rhone, according to a press release issued by the Swiss Association of Youth Organizations (SAJV) on Saturday. In contrast to previous editions, in which the children formulated recommendations, this time they developed projects on four defined topics: Equality, protection, participation and a healthy environment.

The children from German-speaking Switzerland will meet on February 19 next year in the plenary session in Bern, where they will have the opportunity to discuss with members of the Federal Parliament.

In 2020, the SNYC organized the children's conference in French-speaking Switzerland for the first time, in collaboration with Terre des Hommes and also in Geneva.
