Google launches online news service in Switzerland too

Internet giant Google has also launched its "News Showcase" service in Switzerland. Media companies can use it to present their content on the company's platform and in the Discover news feed.
The offer was launched on Tuesday, as the company announced. The participating publishers are CH Media, NZZ, Ringier, Somedia and Tamedia as well as the "20 Minuten" group.
According to the communiqué, the participating media companies select news items on a daily basis, which then appear as an abstract on Google. At the click of a mouse, readers can access the unabridged articles on the publishers' websites.
According to Google, it pays for Internet users to have limited access to paid content.
According to the press release, "News Showcase" is currently available in 31 countries
