100-year-old bathing hut burnt down in Rorschach SG

In Rorschach SG, a hundred-year-old bathing hut on the Swiss shore of Lake Constance burned down early Monday morning.

According to the St. Gallen cantonal police, the cantonal emergency call center received a report at 3.30 a.m. that the bathing hut in Lake Constance was on fire. When the first emergency services arrived, the venerable building was already fully engulfed in flames, the police wrote in a statement. The emergency services were deployed in large numbers. The fire department and the lake rescue service were able to contain the flames, but the bathing hut suffered a total loss. According to the police, no injuries are known. It is not yet clear how the fire started. The Forensics Competence Center of the St.Gallen Cantonal Police has been entrusted with investigating the cause of the fire by the public prosecutor's office of the Canton of St.Gallen. The St.Gallen cantonal police are now looking for witnesses.
