Waiting in Line for Gotthard in the South Grows to Over Ten Kilometers

The traffic heading south through the Gotthard Tunnel has exceeded its capacity, leading to a ten kilometre long traffic jam on the A2 between Erstfeld UR and Göschenen on Friday afternoon. The entry to Göschenen was closed, and the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) reported an overload of traffic on the main road in the Uri canton. Automobile drivers must be prepared to wait up to two hours before they can pass through the tunnel.
