General Fire Ban in the Canton of Valais Outdoors

The Canton of Valais has issued a general fire ban in the outdoors, effective from Thursday. This includes the firing of fireworks. The decision is due to the lack of rainfall since mid-May this year, combined with high temperatures and a strong wind. As a result, the general fire risk in Valais has reached a very high level. However, barbecuing is still allowed in private areas, as long as the grill is placed on a non-flammable surface and at a safe distance from flammable vegetation and forest areas.
