On Saturday afternoon, Swiss Federal Councillor Albert Rösti attended the 100th anniversary celebration of the International Scout Centre Kandersteg in Kandersteg, Switzerland. The twelve-day event, named Kander100, is attended by 1500 young people from over 60 countries aged 12 to 16. The event aims to promote international friendship, alpine adventure and sustainable development. The Centre was founded by Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement, and has grown from hosting 5000 overnight stays in its early years to over 65,000 in recent years. This year, the Centre is expecting 85,000 overnight stays, making it the most successful year in its history. Federal Councillor Rösti, who is also a member of the Patronage Committee, gave a speech at the event. Former Federal Councillor Adolf Ogi was also in attendance. The event is a celebration of the Centre's 100 years of promoting international friendship and sustainable development, and is a testament to the success of the Scouting movement.nnnn
