The Swiss Army has extended its support to the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds NE, which was hit by a storm on July 24th, until August 23rd. Around 80 soldiers were sent to the city on August 2nd, and most of them have now been released from duty. However, a dozen specialists from the Mountain Service Competence Centre remain in the city to help remove the dangers posed by damaged roofs and unstable building elements. The Army has also provided a mini-drone and personnel to the civilian response teams, so that they can get an overview of the current state of the roofs and the progress of the work, allowing them to target their resources more effectively. On July 24th, a severe storm swept through the Neuchâtel watchmaking city, causing damage to thousands of buildings and resulting in one death and 40 injuries. The Swiss Army has been providing assistance to the city since then, and has now extended its support until August 23rd.nnnnnn
