Thieves broke open an ATM in Zuzwil on Wednesday night. They fled with cash of an as yet unknown value, according to the St. Gallen cantonal police.

The property damage amounts to more than 100,000 francs. As the police wrote in a press release, they believe that there were two perpetrators.

They allegedly used explosives to massively damage the ATM at 2.40 a.m. on Wednesday morning and stole the cash it contained. The subsequent search by several patrols from the St. Gallen and Thurgau cantonal police forces was unsuccessful.

A police dog and a drone were also deployed. Due to the possible explosives offence, investigations are now being conducted by the St.Gallen cantonal police and the Federal Office of Police (Fedpol) under the direction of the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG).

On the 25th and 23rd of this month there have been explosions at other ATMS. One in Lucerne. One in Kuttigen. As well as another back in October. This looks to be a spree of crimes. To the best of our knowledge none of the perps have been caught. How can 3 ATM’s be annihilated inside of a week across Switzerland, using heavy explosives?
