The Zurich District Court has sentenced a 60-year-old Swiss man, the former manager of a Wadenswil retirement home, to three years in prison. Half of the sentence will be served in prison, while the remaining 30 months will be served on probation. The former manager had diverted a total of 2.2 million Swiss francs from the retirement home's coffers and a family compensation fund for his own personal use over a period of twelve years. The money was used to pay for sexual services, visits to saunas, expensive clothes, wines, snacks from Globus, and a holiday apartment in Spain. According to the accused, he is currently in therapy for sex and shopping addictions. In addition to the 2.2 million Swiss francs he owes to the compensation fund and the retirement home, he also has credit and tax debts totaling one million Swiss francs. He currently pays 500 Swiss francs per month to the compensation fund. Repayment rates for the retirement home have not yet been determined.nnnnnnnnnn
