In the canton of Neuchâtel, 59 candidates are running for the four National Council seats. This is twelve more than four years ago, with 29 women candidates compared to 19 in the previous elections. 16 lists were submitted to the State Chancellery, 13 of which were submitted four years ago. The four incumbent office holders, Damien Cottier (FDP), Fabien Fivaz (Green), Baptiste Hurni (SP) and Denis de la Reussille (Workers' Party), are running again. The FDP, SP, Greens, Green Liberals and SVP have all submitted youth lists, but no party has submitted a women's list. The left-wing party SolidaritéS has chosen to put only women on their single list. The Workers' Party seat is the most at risk of the four Neuchâtel seats. However, with the alliance with the SP, Greens and SolidaritéS, the Workers' Party has good chances of retaining their seat. On the right, the FDP and SVP are going it alone. The SVP has ambitions to regain the seat lost in 2019. Their top candidate is Niels Rosselet-Christ, president of the cantonal section. The Green Liberals are also challenging the Workers' Party seat. To increase their chances, the party must form an alliance with the Centre, a relatively small party in the canton, and the Evangelical People's Party by the deadline for the announcement of list connections on 11 September. Such an alliance could be decisive for a seat gain. The Green Liberals are also the only party with three lists (main, youth and entrepreneur list), which could increase their share of the vote. The Swiss Democratic Union submitted a list with only one candidate.nnnnnnnnnnnn
