Last Fuel Elements Removed from Nuclear Power Plant Mühleberg

The Swiss energy company BKW announced on Friday that all 418 used-up fuel elements from the Mühleberg nuclear power plant have been transported to the interim storage facility in Würenlingen AG. Without nuclear fuel, the power plant no longer poses a nuclear hazard. The removal of the last fuel elements has reduced radioactivity by more than 99%. The Mühleberg nuclear power plant was taken offline in December 2019.nnnnnnnnnnnn
