In May 2022, the Swiss people voted in favour of the revised Film Law, also known as the "Lex Netflix". This law requires online and television services to invest four percent of their Swiss revenue into Swiss film production and to meet a quota of European films by 2024. The Swiss Federal Council has now established exceptions to this law. Small and medium-sized companies, as well as companies whose compliance with the quota or investment requirement is unreasonable or disproportionate, are exempt. A minimum turnover threshold of 2.5 million Swiss francs per year applies. Companies that show no more than twelve long-term eligible films in a year are also exempt.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
