The 96th Neuenburg Winzerfest attracted around 300,000 visitors over the weekend. On Sunday, Swiss Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider attended the flower parade, the only one of its kind in Switzerland. The organisers were pleased with the success of the event, which passed peacefully with only minor incidents. The weather was mostly favourable, except for Friday. This was the first visit of a member of the government in six years. The guest of honour was the Neuchâtel Xamax football club. Thirteen floats took part in the flower parade, some of them up to 24 metres long and decorated with nine tonnes of flowers, including roses, sunflowers and chrysanthemums. On Friday, musical events were the focus, while Saturday featured a children's parade, a confetti battle, brass music and a melodic fireworks display. There were also fairground rides and 300 stalls offering food and drink.
