Blick TV, the online channel, is ceasing its traditional operations after three and a half years. Starting Monday, the digital channel will no longer broadcast daily news programs. Instead, it will focus on breaking news, special programs and new formats. The three daily news programs will no longer be broadcast, but this is not the end of Blick TV, according to a spokesperson from the Ringier publishing house. Video remains a priority for the Blick Group, with currently around one million video views per day. Going forward, Blick will focus on event-focused programming, such as the live broadcasts from Unspunnen in Interlaken BE. Blick will also continue to offer videos on demand for important events, special programs and new formats such as "Beni da richtig?" and "Adela, bitte wähl mich!". Reto Scherrer and Sylwina Spiess, the faces of Blick TV, will continue to appear in live broadcasts, as well as the shows "Achtung, Reto, los!" and "sichtbar". The 48 employees hired at the launch of Blick TV were informed of the changes and restructuring at a full meeting on Tuesday. Blick TV will no longer exist as a separate entity. Details of how many of the employees are affected were not given. Since its launch in February 2020, Blick TV has been broadcasting a news and entertainment program from 6am to 11pm daily. The channel was integrated into the Blick newsroom, covering the full range of Blick topics. Journalists from the Blick editorial team worked as correspondents and experts for the television. For international reports and livestreams, Blick entered into a partnership with the US news channel CNN.
