Evacuation of SBB Train between Bern and Olten after Collision with Deer

On Monday morning, there were disruptions on the main railway line between Olten SO and Bern due to a collision between a train and a deer at Thunstetten shortly after 9am. Passengers from the affected train were evacuated and the animal did not survive the accident. The remaining passenger trains were diverted via the main line over Burgdorf BE, resulting in delays of up to 15 minutes for travellers. The disruption lasted several hours and affected Intercity trains, Interregio connections and S-Bahn trains.
