The National Council elections in Switzerland have concluded with the following results: 200 seats have been won by the various political parties. The Swiss People's Party (SVP) won the most seats with 65, followed by the Social Democratic Party (SP) with 43, the Free Democratic Party (FDP) with 33, the Green Party (GPS) with 28, the Christian Democratic People's Party (CVP) with 27, the Liberal Green Party (GLP) with 15, and the Swiss Party of Labour (PdA) with 8.
The SVP, SP, FDP, GPS, CVP, GLP, and PdA all increased their seat numbers compared to the 2015 elections, with the SVP gaining the most seats. The SVP also won the most votes, with 29.4% of the total vote. The SP came in second with 18.8%, followed by the FDP with 16.5%, the GPS with 11.2%, the CVP with 10.2%, the GLP with 6.2%, and the PdA with 3.4%.
The election results will have a significant impact on the Swiss political landscape, as the SVP will now be the largest party in the National Council. This will give them a greater influence over the legislative process, and could lead to a shift in the country's political direction. The other parties will also have to adjust to the new balance of power, and will need to work together to ensure that their policies are implemented.
