Police continue to search for the person involved after an act of violence in Ittigen BE

The police are still looking for someone involved in the violent attack in Ittigen BE on Friday morning, which left two people dead and one seriously injured. There was no further information on the condition of the seriously injured woman on Saturday.
A spokeswoman for the Bern cantonal police said on Saturday that the appeal for witnesses from the previous evening was still valid. The police were looking for witnesses who could provide information about the crime or the man involved in the dispute. The man involved had fled and could not initially be apprehended in the course of the manhunt.
No further information was given with reference to the protection of privacy and the ongoing investigations. The police will actively provide further information in due course, the statement continued.
An argument broke out in an apartment building in Ittigen early on Friday morning. On the scene, the emergency services found a seriously injured man on the sidewalk and two seriously injured women were discovered in the house. The injured were taken to hospital in a critical condition, where the man and one of the two women died shortly afterwards.
