Central Federal Councillor Viola Amherd has been confidently confirmed in office for the second time. However, she received slightly fewer votes than in the confirmation election in 2019.
Back then, just one year after taking office, Amherd received 218 out of 232 valid votes, which was the best result of all members of the Federal Council. On Wednesday, the Defense Minister received 201 out of 228 valid votes - 14 votes fewer than SVP Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin.
