Jans’ election success of great significance for Basel

After more than 50 years, Basel-Stadt is once again represented in the highest body of national politics. For the SP Basel-Stadt, it is clear that Beat Jans (SP/BS), a proven politician, is moving into the Federal Parliament.
"Jans has great access to people. He is very popular and always has a sympathetic ear. He can build bridges and create majorities," said Marcel Colomb, Vice-President of the SP Basel-Stadt, in an interview with Keystone-SDA on Wednesday.
Colomb added: "The seat is very important for the city of Basel. However, in Jans we are also losing a great President of the Government Council, who now needs to be replaced."
