Sika commissions new production facilities in Kirchberg

The construction chemicals and adhesives manufacturer Sika is expanding its capacities in Switzerland. New production facilities for a concrete admixture are put into operation in Kirchberg in the canton of Berne.
The additive Sigunit is a shotcrete accelerator and is used in particular in tunnel construction and excavation support, Sika announced on Tuesday. With this new technology manufactured in Switzerland, for example, the second Gotthard road tunnel and important tunnel projects abroad can be supplied more efficiently. Numerous tunnels for rail and road traffic are currently being built in Germany and Austria.
