After Zurich and Bern, Geneva is the third major city in Switzerland and the first in French-speaking Switzerland where Swiss Post delivers exclusively with electric vehicles. The yellow giant is aiming to fully electrify its delivery fleet by 2030.

"Swiss Post not only plays an important role on an economic and social level, but also in terms of sustainability," said Laurent Savary, Swiss Post spokesman for French-speaking Switzerland, to the media on Thursday. Letters and parcels in the city of Geneva and in the industrial areas of Vernier, Meyrin, Carouge and Plan-les-Ouates have already been delivered using electric vehicles since mid-November.

The delivery site has a total of 85 electric delivery vans and 120 three-wheeled electric scooters, which had already been in use for around ten years. The Montbrillant site, from which these vehicles depart, had to be equipped with charging stations. With an investment of 1.5 million Swiss francs, 50 charging stations were installed, including five for fast charging.
