Heading for Italy with 17 kilograms of cocaine in his luggage

A 25-year-old man has been arrested during a border police check in southern Ticino. According to the Ticino cantonal police, the Ukrainian citizen had 17 kilograms of cocaine hidden in his car.
The man, a resident of Italy, was driving south at the weekend when he was stopped near Stabio by an employee of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Protection. According to information from the Ticino cantonal police, around 17 kilograms of cocaine were seized during a search of the car with Italian license plates.
After the investigation was completed, the man was ordered to be arrested. The 25-year-old is accused of a serious offense against the Narcotics Act.
