73-year-old prison inmate dies in cell in Orbe VD

An inmate has been found dead in the prison in Orbe VD. The 73-year-old Swiss man was alone in his cell. According to initial findings, the police have ruled out the possibility of third party involvement.
Staff at the Etablissements de la Plaine de l'Orbe (EPO) prison discovered the lifeless inmate in his cell at around 6.20 a.m. last Friday, the Vaud cantonal police announced on Monday. The emergency services alerted were only able to determine that the cell occupant had died.
The public prosecutor's office launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the prisoner's death.
