Last year, the travel platform Flix was able to increase its turnover to more than two billion euros for the first time after expanding its services to other countries. Around 81 million passengers traveled with the company’s coaches and long-distance trains in 2023.

This was a third more than in the previous year, as Flix announced on Thursday. Adjusted for inflation effects, the company made an operating profit before depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of 104 million euros. This is an increase of 97 million euros compared to the previous year. A net result was not disclosed.

These strong figures show that we have chosen the right strategy and have been pursuing it with determination for eleven years

Flix is best known in Switzerland for its Flixbus brand. Flix operates as a travel provider in numerous European countries as well as in Turkey and North and South America. In the USA, the company took over the long-distance bus provider Greyhound a few years ago.

In February, the company also announced its market entry in India. In Germany, Flix also operates on the railways and is one of the few competitors to Deutsche Bahn in long-distance transport. Flix has been operating as a European public limited company SE since the beginning of 2022.

Flix does not operate its own fleet, but merely arranges trips via its own platform. They are operated by other bus and train companies.
