Man dies in traffic accident in Andeer GR

A 56-year-old driver died in a traffic accident on the A13 near Andeer GR on Thursday morning. His car collided with an oncoming vehicle in a tunnel.
As a result of the collision, his car overturned and crashed into the wall of a tunnel recess, the cantonal police of Graubünden reported on Friday. The man could only be rescued dead after his vehicle was broken open with crushing tools.
The occupants of the oncoming vehicle, a 59-year-old man and his 58-year-old wife, were reported to have suffered moderate injuries. During the recovery work, heavy traffic was held up on the A13 in Cazis and San Vittore for a good four hours. Passenger cars were diverted via the cantonal road.
