Glarus gamekeeper kills another wolf

The canton of Glarus's game warden killed a young wolf on Wednesday night. This completes the regulation of the Kärpf pack, the canton wrote.
The shooting of the young wolf was based on the cantonal decree of October 17, 2023, which was issued with the approval of the Federal Office for the Environment, according to a press release. The corresponding application was based on damage to livestock. At the time, wolves from the Kärpf pack killed two calves, injured two others and killed two sheep.
The lead male of the Kärpf pack was shot on December 21, 2023. According to the canton, this shooting permit was issued under the old Hunting Act.
