Consumer protection criticizes dynamic price models in ski resorts

Consumer protection demands that ski resorts abandon dynamic price models and not misuse them for hidden price increases. Otherwise, they would at least have to announce an "acceptable minimum price".

It is reasonable to assume that the piste operators are using the dynamic price models to charge higher ticket prices on days when many guests are expected, Swiss Consumer Protection announced on Wednesday. These include public holidays, weekends and school sports vacations in particular.

In addition, some ski resorts do not publish maximum prices. Due to the lack of transparency, "hidden price increases" are possible. This means that dynamic price models are "basically a 'win' for ski resorts and a 'lose' for skiers and snowboarders". And it cannot be assumed that a more even utilization of the facilities can be achieved.
