Switzerland and dozens of countries call for ceasefire in Sudan

More than 40 countries, including Switzerland, are calling for a ceasefire in Sudan during Ramadan. In a declaration submitted to the UN in Geneva on Wednesday, they call on the Sudanese army to allow humanitarian aid across the front line.
The representative of the UN Office for Humanitarian Operations (Ocha) also renewed his alarm call before the United Nations Security Council in New York. Sudan, which is suffering from famine after almost a year of war, is experiencing one of the worst humanitarian disasters in recent history.
