The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in Bern issued a reminder on Saturday that tourist and other non-urgent travel to Israel is not recommended. Travel to individual parts of the country is generally not recommended. A state of alert is in force in Israel from this Saturday due to an expected Iranian attack.
"The government of Israel has declared a state of alert on April 13, 2024. Follow the instructions of the local authorities," reads the latest travel advice issued by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) on Saturday evening. Since October 7, 2023, there have been armed clashes in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory - especially in the Gaza Strip.
