Swiss cleantech leader Bcomp announces a significant Series C funding round.
Swiss-based Bcomp, a pioneer in lightweight composite solutions, has successfully raised $40 million in a Series C funding round, demonstrating confidence in its mission to enhance mobility decarbonisation. Según un comunicado de prensa.
This latest investment, led by EGS Beteiligungen AG, alongside new stakeholders such as Verve Ventures, Zürcher Kantonalbank, and RKKVC, aims to scale Bcomp’s fibre-based composites across the mobility sector.
Founded in Fribourg, Switzerland, Bcomp is renowned for its high-performance, natural fibre composites that significantly reduce CO2 impacts—by up to 60% compared to conventional materials.
Their flagship products have been integrated into production by leading automotive manufacturers like Volvo and Polestar, as well as in motorsports, mass transit, and consumer goods.
The funding will accelerate Bcomp’s market expansion, particularly into North American and Asian markets, while enhancing production capacity to meet growing demands, the press release continued.
The company’s materials are designed to replace traditional carbon, glass, or plastic composites, offering superior light weighting, stiffness, and safety.
Christian Jaag, Bcomp’s Chairman, emphasised the investment’s role in expanding both market reach and the scope of applications, from automotive interiors to aerospace components.
Bcomp’s is positioned to benefit from the automative industries shift towards sustainability.
