In 2023, six children died in road accidents. A total of 2155 adolescents between the ages of eight and 14 were involved in accidents. Against this backdrop, the TCS is launching its new road safety education program for eight to twelve-year-olds.

The Touring Club of Switzerland (TCS) presented the program at a school in the canton of Fribourg on Wednesday. It will be available to all schools nationwide, as the club announced. The TCS developed the program, called "Mobeeez", together with the Fribourg University of Teacher Education and the Fribourg cantonal police.

"Mobeeez" complements the existing road safety education for three to 16-year-olds. It offers playful and illustrative tools that meet the needs of the police, teachers, children and parents. The aim is to help children develop their mobility and enable them to become independent in traffic.

Specifically, the materials include a folder with a comic and two theory brochures for the children. These are handed out by the police during traffic lessons. A second part on mobility and road safety, which can be integrated into various subjects, is aimed at teachers. According to the TCS, it has been involved in road safety education for over 100 years.
